Mariska Hargitay

Mariska Hargitay is recognized for her enduring work in television, notably for her portrayal of Detective and later Captain Olivia Benson on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." The daughter of actress Jayne Mansfield, Hargitay studied theater at UCLA and built her career through various television and film roles, including appearances on "ER" and in the film "Leaving Las Vegas." Her role on "Law & Order: SVU" has spanned more than 600 episodes, establishing the series as the longest-running primetime live-action drama in television history and making Hargitay the longest-running lead actor in a primetime drama.

Hargitay's performance as Olivia Benson, an investigator of sex crimes, has earned her critical recognition. Hargitay expanded her creative work by launching her production company, Mighty Entertainment, with the documentary "My Mom Jayne," which explores the life and legacy of Jayne Mansfield. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, earned Best First Documentary Feature at the Critics Choice Documentary Awards, and was named a New York Times Critics Pick. Hargitay also made her Broadway debut in the solo play "Every Brilliant Thing" at the Hudson Theatre, later bringing the show to California for a benefit supporting the Joyful Heart Foundation. She is set to host the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, becoming the first woman to host the ceremony in 15 years, further highlighting her influence in the entertainment industry.
