Lele Pons is a Venezuelan-American actress, singer, model and internet personality. Pons was born in Venezuela, but her family relocated to Miami when she was five years old.
Pons got her start on the video sharing app Vine. She was the most followed and most looped person on the app when it shut down in 2016. When Vine shut down, Pons moved to YouTube where she started uploading longer skits. On YouTube, Pons now has over 13 million subscribers and her videos have garnered more than 2.5 billion views.
In addition to posting her sketches on YouTube, she also shares comedy skits on her Instagram page. On Instagram, she has a following of more than 33.5 million. In 2017 she had the most viewed stories on the app. She also has nearly 2 million followers on Twitter.
She was named one of Time magazine's "Most Influential Teens" of 2015 when she was 19. The following year, she was included in the magazine's "30 Most Influential People on the Internet." Forbes placed Pons eighth on its list of the Top Influencers of 2017, and also included her in its “30 under 30” lists in the "Entertainment," "Immigrants," and "Youngest" categories.
In 2016, Pons published a fictional novel about surviving high school to pass on her own experiences to her predominantly pre-teen and teenage audience. She co-wrote the book with author Melissa de la Cruz.
In February 2017, she was named CoverGirl makeup’s newest brand ambassador. In the same month, she also walked for Dolce and Gabbana at their Autumn 2017 fashion show in Milan.
She has made appearances in television and film, playing minor roles in the MTV series "Scream" and "Escape the Night," as well as making a cameo in "The Space Between Us." Pons has also starred in a number of music videos, including "Havana" by Camila Cabello, "Summer" by Marshmello and "Downtown" by Anitta and J Balvin.
In 2018, Pons launched her music career when she signed to Universal Music Group’s 10:22 pm Label. She released "Celoso," her first single and music video as a solo artist, in August 2018. The song went 3x platinum and earned a nomination for the Premios Lo Nuestro nomination for the video.
Pons took over hosting of La Voz... México on October 14, 2018. She presented the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards with Aitana.
On March 29, 2019 Lele released her English-language debut, and her first country song with the Jake Owen duet "Señorita" from his album Greetings from... Jake.
In addition to sketches and music, Pons also posts about political and social issues — especially current affairs in South America. She partakes in projects that attempt to raise awareness for ongoing issues effecting the region, such as Hurricane Maria's devastating effect on Puetro Rico.
