Jay Simons

Jay Simons is a General Partner at BOND, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco. He focuses on emerging enterprise software companies and the scaling of modern SaaS business models globally. Simons serves on the boards of several companies, including HubSpot and Zapier.

Prior to joining BOND, Simons was the President of Atlassian, where he played a critical role in scaling the company from pre-IPO to a valuation of approximately $40 billion. Under his leadership, Atlassian's revenue grew significantly, and he was instrumental in developing a product-led growth strategy that has become a hallmark of successful SaaS companies.

Before his tenure at Atlassian, Simons held various senior positions at BEA Systems and Plumtree Software, where he was involved in marketing and product strategy. He began his career at Plumtree in sales and marketing, eventually becoming the President of the company.

Simons holds a degree from the University of Washington and began his career in the late 1990s during the tech boom. His early experiences laid the foundation for his expertise in product marketing and strategy within the software industry.

In addition to his role at BOND, Simons has made impactful investments in companies such as AlphaSense and Locus Robotics, focusing on SaaS in the San Francisco Bay Area.
