Jennie Kim, known professionally as Jennie and sometimes as Jennie Ruby Jane, is a South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter, and actress recognized for her contributions to K-pop and global pop culture. Kim gained international attention as the main rapper and lead vocalist of BLACKPINK, debuting with the group after a six-year training period at YG Entertainment. Alongside bandmates Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa, she debuted with the release of "Square One" and its double A-side singles "Boombayah" and "Whistle." Kim has been noted for her creative involvement within the group, with Jisoo crediting her for overseeing general duties and decision-making. BLACKPINK has become one of the best-selling girl groups, with Kim's fluency in Korean, English, and Japanese contributing to her international visibility.

In addition to her music career, Kim is a prominent figure in pop culture and high fashion. Her partnership with Chanel began when she was named a Korean ambassador and has developed into a long-standing collaboration, earning her the nickname Human Chanel. Kim has led campaigns for the brand's Coco Neige, Coco Crush, and Chanel 25 handbag collections, and is a regular at Paris Fashion Week. She has also served as a global ambassador for Calvin Klein, collaborated with Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster, and has been recognized by Forbes on its Korea Power Celebrity and K-Idol of the Year lists.
