Dr. Jessica Barker

Dr. Jessica Barker MBE is recognized for her expertise in the human factors of cybersecurity, focusing on how psychology, sociology, and human behavior influence security outcomes. As co-founder of Cygenta, a cybersecurity consultancy, Barker works with organizations to develop human-centric security strategies that bridge the gap between technology and people. Cygenta advises businesses such as Mastercard, Microsoft, and Cisco on cybersecurity and cyber risk management.

Barker is the author of books including "Confident Cyber Security" and "Hacked: The Secrets Behind Cyber Attacks." In her writing, she explores how hackers use advanced tactics and technologies to target individuals and organizations, featuring insights from cybersecurity experts and ethical hackers, and examining significant cyber attacks.

Barker has delivered cybersecurity awareness sessions to more than 80,000 people and over 90 keynote presentations at events including NATO, World Government Summit, and RSA. She has appeared on national and international television to comment on cybersecurity issues over 100 times. Barker serves on several industry boards, including the UK Government Cyber Security Board.

Named among the top 20 most influential UK women in cybersecurity, Barker has received multiple industry accolades, including an MBE for services to cybersecurity and recognition as Cyber Citizen of the Year by the National Cyber Awards. She is Chair of ClubCISO, a private members forum for global cybersecurity leaders, contributing to the development of cybersecurity culture and strategy.
