David Muir

David Muir is the anchor and managing editor of "ABC World News Tonight with David Muir," the most-watched newscast in the U.S., and co-anchor of "20/20." An award-winning journalist, he has earned multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Awards, along with honors including the George Polk Award, Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award, and the 2024 Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism.

Over more than two decades at ABC News, Muir has reported from global hotspots including Afghanistan, Iraq, Ukraine, Gaza, and Fukushima, delivering in-depth coverage of major international events. He is known for high-profile interviews with world leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and multiple U.S. presidents such as Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and Barack Obama, often generating global headlines.

Muir has led major special reports on issues ranging from climate change and global famine to refugees and the opioid crisis, with his work raising millions for the World Food Programme. He has also moderated presidential debates and conducted landmark interviews, including with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

A magna cum laude graduate of Ithaca College, Muir began his career in local news before rising to become one of the most prominent figures in American broadcast journalism.
