Cristina Jiménez Moreta is a community organizer, political strategist, and storyteller specializing in immigration advocacy and immigrant rights. She is the co-founder and former executive director of United We Dream, the largest immigrant youth-led organization in the United States. Jiménez Moreta migrated to the United States from Ecuador with her family at age 13 and grew up undocumented.
Under Jiménez Moreta’s leadership, United We Dream expanded into a network of nearly 1 million members and played a significant role in shaping public discourse on immigration and influencing immigration policy. Jiménez Moreta was a key figure in United We Dream’s campaign that contributed to the implementation of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Jiménez Moreta has received recognition for her work as a social justice organizer, including a MacArthur Fellowship, the Four Freedoms Award, and inclusion on the TIME 100 list.
