Cillian Murphy

Cillian Murphy is an Irish actor known for his work in film, television, and theater. Early in his career, Murphy appeared in the horror film "28 Days Later," the dark comedy "Intermission," the Irish war drama "The Wind That Shakes the Barley," and the science fiction thriller "Sunshine." He portrayed a transgender Irish woman in the comedy-drama "Breakfast on Pluto," earning a Golden Globe Award nomination. Murphy gained further recognition for his role as Tommy Shelby in the BBC period drama series "Peaky Blinders" and for his performance in the horror sequel "A Quiet Place Part II."

Murphy has collaborated extensively with filmmaker Christopher Nolan, playing Dr. Jonathan Crane in The Dark Knight Trilogy, as well as appearing in "Inception" and "Dunkirk." He portrayed the lead role of J. Robert Oppenheimer in the biographical epic "Oppenheimer." For his performance in "Oppenheimer," Murphy received a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama and an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Murphy has also been recognized for his stage work, winning the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Actor and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance for the one-man play "Misterman." The Irish Times has named him among the greatest Irish film actors.
