When the Holes Align: Leadership, Trust & the Anatomy of Preventable Failure
Most crises do not begin with one catastrophic mistake. They develop when small gaps in communication, preparation, culture, trust, and accountability begin to align. Using the Swiss Cheese Model and lessons from real-world organizational failure, Marty McNair shows leaders how to recognize vulnerabilities before they become crises.
This keynote challenges organizations to examine the systems, behaviors, and cultural norms that allow warning signs to go unnoticed. Marty helps audiences understand why people sometimes fail to speak up, how trust influences decision-making, and what leaders can do to create stronger systems of accountability and prevention.
Attendee Results:
Identify gaps in communication, preparation, and accountability. Recognize cultural conditions that can suppress concerns or delay action. Understand the relationship between trust, psychological safety, and prevention. Leave with practical strategies for strengthening organizational resilience.
-
The Leader You Become After the Crisis: Forgiveness, Accountability & Purpose
Crisis changes leaders. The question is what kind of leader emerges on the other side.
In this deeply personal and practical keynote, Marty McNair explores how forgiveness became a leadership discipline in his own life. He demonstrates that forgiveness does not mean excusing harm, abandoning accountability, or forgetting what happened. Instead, it can create the clarity necessary to move from reaction to purpose.
Marty challenges leaders to consider how unresolved anger, grief, and adversity influence their decisions, relationships, and ability to lead effectively.
Attendee Results:
Understand how forgiveness and accountability can coexist. Recognize how unresolved pain can shape leadership decisions. Learn how purpose can replace reaction as a decision-making framework. Develop a healthier approach to leading after adversity or crisis.
