Indie Pop Singer-Songwriter & Multi-Instrumentalist; Creator of Dayglow; Producer of "Fuzzybrain"
Dayglow Biography
Sloan Struble, known professionally as Dayglow, is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer recognized for his self-made approach to indie pop. Struble began his career by releasing songs on SoundCloud under the name Kindred before channeling his songwriting instincts into a more focused creative vision. He founded the solo indie pop project Dayglow, and although he is the sole member, he describes Dayglow as a band, similar to Tame Impala or Mutemath. Struble taught himself how to create music from a young age, starting with GarageBand, a self-taught ethos that defines his artistic identity.
Dayglow's debut studio album, "Fuzzybrain," was initially self-released before a wider re-release through Very Nice Records. The album features 10 tracks, all written, performed, and produced by Struble in his bedroom setup, capturing themes of personal growth and introspection through upbeat indie pop arrangements. "Fuzzybrain" gained traction through social media and prompted Struble's decision to focus on music full-time. The breakout single, "Can I Call You Tonight?," achieved significant radio success, peaking at No. 3 on the Alternative Airplay chart, and has amassed over 500 million streams on Spotify. Following the album's release, Dayglow performed at Austin City Limits Music Festival.
The sophomore album, "Harmony House," received recognition from Billboard, NPR, Ones to Watch, The Talkhouse, and NME. Inspired by 1970s and 1980s piano-driven rock, the album expanded on Struble's signature sound with 11 tracks exploring escapism and relationships. Dayglow made its debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's "Late Show at Home" series, performing "Can I Call You Tonight?." Struble then released the third studio album, "People in Motion," via Very Nice Records. This 10-track album continued his optimistic indie pop style, exploring themes of perception and movement, and was noted for its energetic production. He has accumulated millions of streams and performed at major music festivals such as Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo.
Struble released his fourth studio album, the self-titled "Dayglow," via Mercury Records. This 10-track project, written, performed, recorded, and produced entirely by Struble, marks a return to his indie pop roots with vibrant, guitar-driven songs emphasizing themes of self-discovery and youthful energy. The release of "Dayglow" coincided with a national tour that began in Mexico City and ended in Austin, Texas. He subsequently released the deluxe album "Superbloom" to accompany the self-titled record, adding six new songs to the project. In an era when most songs are created by teams of co-writers and producers, Dayglow's music remains uniquely Struble's, crafted solely by him and contributing to his distinct presence in the indie pop and alternative music landscape.
