Washington graduated from Bowie State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and Howard University with a master's degree in social work. She has over ten years of experience offering mental health services to corporate, faith-based, and government organizations through education, training, clinical support, and advocacy.

Washington served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force, teaching crisis management and intervention skills to over 42K military members and civilian employees.
