Emmanuel Sanders Biography
Drafted in the 3rd round out of Southern Methodist University, Sanders was a first team All-Conference USA Receiver. During his senior season, Sanders caught 91 receptions for 1,215 yards, an average of 101.1 yards a game. Sanders left SMU as the all-time leader in receptions (285), receiving yards (3,791), and touchdown receptions (34) for the Mustangs, which lead to him being named Sports Illustrated Honorable Mention All-American.
After Sanders remarkable college career, he was drafted #82 overall in the 2010 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. In Sanders rookie season, he played in 13 games, catching 28 passes for 376 yards and 2 touchdowns while averaging over 13 yards per catch. Sanders and the Steelers knocked off the New York Jets in the 2010 AFC Championship Playoffs to advance to Super Bowl XLV during his rookie campaign. That allowed Sanders to play in front of his hometown crowd in Dallas for Super Bowl XLV, where he hauled in two catches for 17 yards.
For his young career, Sanders has 60 receptions for 785 yards and 4 touchdowns. The third year Wide Receiver is expecting a break-out season in 2012 in hopes of leading the Steelers back to their familiar territory, winning the Lombardi Trophy for a NFL record seventh time!
