Peter Windsor Biography

Peter Windsor has enjoyed a sustained and varied career in Formula One. As Race Team Manager of the Williams F1 team, Peter won both the F1 Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships. He was also Manager of Sponsorship and Public Affairs at Williams, working with such companies as Canon, ICI, Unilever, Honda, Goodyear and Exxon-Mobil. He managed Ferrari’s F1 technical facility, Ferrari GTO Ltd, overseeing chassis and suspension construction and winning five Grands Prix; and he has managed several drivers, including Carlos Reutemann, a World Championship runner-up, and Nigel Mansell, who won the 1992 F1 World Championship. In 2014 he was awarded the Lorenzo Bandini gold medal for his services to motorsport.

As a journalist, Peter has worked for such journals as Autosport, F1 Racing, Autoweek, Road and Track, Car and Driver, Car Graphic, Autosport Japan, Autocar and Motor, has written regularly for The Daily Mail and The Sunday Times newspapers in the UK, and has contributed extensively to specialist publications that include the Goodwood Magazine, the BRDC Bulletin and in-house Ferrari and Fiat magazines. He has won five international awards for his journalism, including UK Sports Reporter of the Year and Feature Writer of the Year.

Peter’s TV career began in 1997 with Sky Sports. He has since reported, hosted and written for Fox Sports Net, Channel Ten Australia, Sky F1, LeTV China, FOM, Goodwood TV and MotorsportTV. He has also contributed to several documentaries, including “The Making of Ten”, “Gentlemen Lift Your Skirts”, “Hunt-Lauda”, “Ferrari: race to immortality”; “Williams”; and several internal FOM publicity videos.

Peter has also hosted and moderated live events for a wide variety of clients including HP, Honda, Mumm, Rolex, Hilton, Grand Prix Tours, the FIA and the F1 Global Business Forum; and he has also raced a variety of cars around the world, taking several top three finishes in the UK and finishing second in the Jackie Chan Trophy Race at Macau, near Hong Kong, with a Mitsubishi Colt turbo.

Peter’s YouTube Channel is one of the largest F1 independent channels in the world, with 19m views and 83k subscribers; and he has 66k Twitter followers.

Peter is based in London, where he lives with his wife, Claudia, and son, Jack.
