Malcolm Jenkins Biography

A former professional football athlete, Malcolm Jenkins enjoyed a 13-season career in the National Football League (NFL) as a safety. During his tenure, Jenkins played for the New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles, where he proved to be a dynamic playmaker. Transitioning from cornerback to safety in 2010, Jenkins was a key player in the Saints' Super Bowl XLIV victory. In 2016, he received the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award, becoming the only player in Eagles history to register three consecutive seasons with an INT-TD. His performance throughout his career was consistent, as evidenced by his multiple recognitions as NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Jenkins was named to the Pro Bowl three times (2015, 2017, 2018) and received the Jim Thorpe Award in 2008, a prestigious recognition for the nation's best defensive back. He was also recognized as a consensus All-American in the same year. Known for his deft interceptions, Jenkins scored multiple career pick-sixes against notable teams and quarterbacks. Off the field, Jenkins made significant contributions to the community. In 2010, he founded The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, a nonprofit aiming to help youth in underserved communities. Through the foundation, he launched educational programs in Philadelphia, supported 1,200 families in Ohio, and mentored 425 youth in New Jersey.

Moreover, Jenkins has displayed a commitment to social issues and community development. He initiated engagement with local law enforcement, met with Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross, and participated in a ride-along with Philadelphia police. He extended his engagement to the national level, visiting the White House with other NFL players to discuss race relations and criminal justice reform. Jenkins also used his platform to address racial inequality, penning an op-ed in "The Washington Post." He was awarded the NFLPA Alan Page Community Award in 2017 and the NFLPA "Byron Whizzer White Award" in 2017 for his dedication to positively impacting his team, community, and country. Jenkins announced his retirement from professional football in March 2022. In 2023, he published his book on success, "What Winners Won't Tell You: Lessons from a Legendary Defender."
