 Nat Faxon Biography

Nat Faxon, who currently stars on FOX's "Ben and Kate," is an American actor, comedian and Academy Award-winning screenwriter.

Faxon's grew up in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. He graduated from the Holderness School and Hamilton College in 1997.

In 2001, Faxon began performing with The Groundlings, a Los Angeles-based improvisational and sketch comedy troupe.

Faxon has appeared in comedic films like "Orange County," "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," "Bad Teacher" and many Broken Lizard films including "Beerfest." He co-starred in Darren Star's semi-autobiographical satire "Grosse Pointe" and had recurring roles in several shows such as "The Cleveland Show," "Joey," "Up All Night" and "Reno 911!"

Faxon and writing partner Jim Rash, whom he met while performing at The Groundlings, co-wrote the screenplay for the film "The Descendants," starring George Clooney and directed by Alexander Payne. In 2012, the screenplay for "The Descendants" won an Oscar, with Faxon, Rash, and Payne all receiving the award. The two are in the process of making their directorial debut, "The Way, Way Back," based on their original screenplay and starring Steve Carrell and Sam Rockwell, among others.

He stars in the lead role on the sitcom "Ben and Kate."
