Born of East Indian and Portuguese heritage and raised in London, Paris and Washington D.C., Susie first came to the public's attention as a successful Ford model in New York, followed by highly public careers in film and television and as an investigative journalist. Her early entrepreneurial ventures were as a restaurateur (with then-husband Sonny Bono) and subsequently a clothing boutique on Melrose Avenue, called A Star is Worn, which sold celebrity collectibles.
