Tala Dowlatshahi

Tala Dowlatshahi is a public speaker and executive leader with experience addressing policy issues related to climate change, food insecurity, education, health, and environmental sustainability. Dowlatshahi has been recognized as a top nonprofit program development voice by LinkedIn. She is an active member of the Women in International Affairs network and has contributed to initiatives promoting peace, women and youth empowerment, and transparent, accountable governments and social systems. Over her career, Dowlatshahi has worked at the intersection of human rights, sustainable development, and global health security.

Dowlatshahi serves on the advisory board of Geneva Macro Labs, a global organization that leverages collective intelligence to accelerate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As a think-and-do-tank, Geneva Macro Labs promotes exchange among experts, investors, and community members to design and implement solutions for a sustainable future. Dowlatshahi provides guidance on community and participatory approaches, citizen engagement, and organizes panels for senior leadership focused on the digital divide, including panels on bias in algorithmic datasets.

Earlier in her career, Dowlatshahi served as a senior advisor for the UN Office of the President of the General Assembly, where she developed stakeholder briefings with government leaders focused on the establishment and implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She also worked for more than a decade at Reporters sans Frontieres, a global press and freedom of expression organization.

Dowlatshahi has been recognized as a featured speaker at international forums on sustainable development and digital equity, and advises organizations on inclusive strategies for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals and addressing algorithmic bias in global policy contexts.
