Shirley Manson

Shirley Manson is a Scottish singer, songwriter, musician, feminist, and actress, recognized internationally as the lead singer of the alternative rock band Garbage. Manson has maintained a significant presence in alternative music, known for her distinctive voice and candid approach.

Manson previously hosted the podcast "The Jump," where she interviewed musical artists such as Perfume Genius, Big Boi, Courtney Love, Neko Case, Esperanza Spalding, Karen O, and Dave 1.

Her music career began in her teens with the Scottish band Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie, followed by recording as Angelfish before joining Garbage. The band's self-titled debut album achieved critical and commercial success, followed by additional studio albums, including the Grammy-nominated "Version 2.0" and a greatest hits collection. Garbage has sold more than 17 million albums globally and has continued to tour internationally, releasing albums such as "No Gods No Masters."

During a hiatus from Garbage, Manson wrote and recorded solo material and later rejoined the band for the album "Not Your Kind of People." She has also worked as an actress, notably portraying Catherine Weaver in "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and voicing characters in animated series including "Top Wing."
