Kordell Stewart

Kordell Stewart, a former NFL player renowned for his versatility, currently serves as an NFL analyst and broadcaster. Stewart’s dynamic career expanded into media following his playing days, as he worked as a sideline reporter for the United Football League (UFL) on the Versus Network, now NBC Sports Network. He has also contributed post-game analysis for ESPN News and made notable guest appearances on programs such as ESPN’s “First Take,” NBC’s “Deal or No Deal,” and Spike TV’s “Pros vs. Joes.” Between 2015 and 2018, Stewart co-hosted the daily program "No Huddle" on TuneIn and previously worked as a co-host for Atlanta’s 92.9FM The Game. His extensive media career includes ongoing appearances as an analyst on ESPN's "NFL Live," "NFL 32," "Take 2," and "Mike and Mike in the Morning."

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 60th overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft, Stewart quickly became known for his remarkable versatility. His ability to play multiple positions—quarterback, wide receiver, and running back—earned him the nickname “Slash.” Stewart became the Steelers' starting quarterback in 1997, leading them to an 11-5 record and the AFC Championship Game. One of his standout performances came in a game against the Denver Broncos, where he became the first quarterback in NFL history to both run for two touchdowns and pass for three in a single game. In 2001, Stewart passed for over 3,000 yards and earned a Pro Bowl selection while guiding the Steelers to the AFC Championship Game, where they were defeated by the New England Patriots. Stewart finished his career with the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens, ranking sixth in quarterback rushing touchdowns with a total of 38.

Stewart’s collegiate career at the University of Colorado was equally impressive. He set several school records, including most completions (456), passing yards (6,418), and touchdown passes (33). He gained national attention for his role in the “Miracle at Michigan,” a dramatic 64-yard Hail Mary pass to Michael Westbrook that defeated the University of Michigan. Stewart’s legacy at Colorado was cemented in November 2018 when he was inducted into the University of Colorado Athletics Hall of Fame. In 2016, Stewart published his autobiography, "Truth: The Kordell Stewart Story," and was inducted into the Allstate Sugar Bowl Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame.

Outside of football, Stewart is dedicated to giving back to his community. He actively supports the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and frequently visits children’s hospitals to uplift young patients.
