Kate Walsh

Kate Walsh is an American actress and businesswoman whose career spans theater, film, and television. After relocating to Chicago to pursue acting, Walsh performed improv and plays at local theaters, earning early recognition from the Wall Street Journal for her work at Piven Theater Workshop. She worked with Chicago Shakespeare Repertory, appeared on National Public Radio in the radio play "Born Guilty," and later moved to New York City, joining the comedy troupe Burn Manhattan and performing in Off-Broadway productions. In New York, Walsh made her first television appearances with guest roles in shows such as "Law & Order" and had a recurring role on "The Drew Carey Show."

Walsh's film credits include roles in "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "Kicking & Screaming." She achieved widespread recognition as Dr. Addison Montgomery in the ABC series "Grey's Anatomy." The character's popularity led to the spin-off "Private Practice." Walsh has also appeared in NBC's "Bad Judge," the FX series "Fargo," and films including "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Legion," "Almost Love," "Girls Trip," and "Honest Thief." In addition to her acting career, Walsh is an entrepreneur and advocate. She founded Boyfriend LLC, a beauty and lifestyle company, and launched the perfume "Boyfriend." Walsh is active in climate change advocacy, ocean and marine life conservation with Oceana, and has participated in Operation Smile's efforts to provide surgical care to children. She has served as a member of Planned Parenthood's Board of Advocates.
