Jon Bernthal

Jon Bernthal is an Emmy Award-winning actor recognized for his physically commanding performances in film, television, and theater. Bernthal studied at the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia, where he also played professional baseball in the European Professional Baseball Federation, before being discovered by the director of Harvard University's Institute for Advanced Theatre Training. He earned a Master of Fine Arts from the American Repertory Theatre and performed in more than 30 plays regionally and off-Broadway, including productions with his theater company, Fovea Floods. His extensive training and experience in stage acting have informed his approach to roles across genres.

Bernthal gained widespread attention for his portrayal of Shane Walsh in the AMC series "The Walking Dead," establishing himself as a screen presence adept at portraying complex characters. He later played Frank Castle in Netflix's "Daredevil," a role that led to the spin-off series "The Punisher" and a return to the character in the Disney+ series "Daredevil: Born Again." His film credits include "The Wolf of Wall Street," "Fury," "Sicario," "Baby Driver," "Ford v Ferrari," "King Richard," and "The Odyssey," with several of these projects earning Academy Award nominations for Best Picture.

Bernthal's recurring guest role as Michael Berzatto in the FX series "The Bear" has been recognized with a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. He received additional Emmy nominations for his work in other seasons of the show. Bernthal also co-wrote and starred in the FX special "Gary," further contributing to the world of "The Bear."

In addition to acting, Bernthal hosts the podcast "Real Ones with Jon Bernthal," which features conversations with individuals such as soldiers, doctors, police officers, activists, and first responders. He is also a co-founder of the production company Story Factory, which develops film and television projects.
