Jesse Spencer

Jesse Spencer is an Australian actor and musician whose career spans more than two decades across three continents. He is known for his roles as Billy Kennedy on the Australian soap opera "Neighbours," Dr. Robert Chase on the American medical drama "House," and Captain Matthew Casey on the American drama "Chicago Fire." Spencer has worked extensively in television and theater, demonstrating versatility across genres and formats.

Spencer began his professional journey while still in high school, auditioning for and landing a role on "Neighbours." He starred in the series for several years and was nominated for Most Popular Actor at the Logie Awards for his work. After his time on the long-running Australian soap opera, Spencer moved to England, appearing in film and television projects such as "Lorna Doone" for BBC and "Winning London." He also returned to Australia to star opposite Geoffrey Rush and Judy Davis in the film "Swimming Upstream," portraying Australian sports figure Anthony Fingleton.

Spencer made his American television debut in the series "House," playing Dr. Robert Chase opposite Hugh Laurie for all eight seasons of the show. For his work on "House," he received nominations at the Teen Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards, and was honored with a Golden Boomerang at the Australians in Film Breakthrough Awards.
