Gabrielle Carteris is an actress, producer, and prominent union leader whose career spans television, film, and advocacy for performers’ rights. She is best known for her breakout role as Andrea Zuckerman on the iconic 1990s TV drama "Beverly Hills, 90210," where she portrayed the intelligent, ambitious editor of the school newspaper — a part she played for the first five seasons despite being nearly 30 when cast.

Carteris began her career with roles in television specials and soap operas before landing "90210," which made her a household name and helped define her public image. After leaving the series in 1995, she explored a range of acting opportunities in television and film, hosted her own daytime talk show "Gabrielle" for a season, and worked regularly as a voice actor and guest star in programs like "Code Black," "NCIS," and *"Criminal Minds."

Beyond acting, Carteris became deeply involved in labor advocacy. She held leadership roles in what became SAG-AFTRA after the 2012 merger of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, serving first as executive vice president and then as the union’s president from 2016 until 2021.
