Donna Wright

Donna Wright is a nurse and professional development specialist and she is a consultant with Creative Health Care Management based in Minneapolis. Wright has degrees in Nursing, Family Sociology, and Adult Education. Wright is known for her expertise in competency assessment and leadership development. She is the author of the best-selling book, "The Ultimate Guide to Competency Assessment in Healthcare" and has a global reach. Her book has also has been translated into Japanese, and is being used throughout Japan.

She is also one of the co-authors of two national award winning books, "Relationship-Based Care: A model for transforming practice" and "Advancing Relationship-Base Cultures".

Wright has experience in both staff and leadership roles in a variety of clinical and non-clinical areas. Her experiences have taken her to a variety of health care settings including rural Africa. She has worked on six out of seven continents. The only one she has not worked on is Antarctica.

Wright is the lead facilitator for the course, “Leading an Empowered Organization” which has been taught in over 24 countries.

Wright is a member and past president of the Association for Nursing Professional Development and is a recipient of their “Promoting Excellence in Consultation” award and the Marlene Kramer Lifetime Achievement award. Wright is known for her energy and refreshing approach to education and learning.
