Antonio Banderas

Antonio Banderas, an accomplished Spanish actor, director, and producer, has had an illustrious career in both European and American cinema. He first graced the screen in Pedro Almodóvar's "Labyrinth of Passion" in 1982, going on to work with the director numerous times. His roles in films such as "The Skin I Live In" and "Pain and Glory" have been critically acclaimed, the latter earning him a Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor. Banderas has also made significant contributions to American cinema, making his debut in "The Mambo Kings" before going on to star in films such as "Philadelphia", "Interview with the Vampire", and "Evita".

Banderas' work extends beyond the silver screen, with significant roles in animation, television, and theater. His voice work as Puss in Boots in the "Shrek" franchise has been well received, and his performances in television projects such as "And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself" and "Genius: Picasso" have earned him Primetime Emmy Award nominations. On stage, Banderas made his Broadway debut in the musical revival "Nine", earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. In addition to his acting roles, Banderas has also directed films, including "Crazy in Alabama" and "Summer Rain".

Offstage and outside of the studio, Banderas has pursued ventures in the performing arts and business. He opened Teatro del Soho CaixaBank in Malaga in 2019, a theater project dedicated to the production and exhibition of shows and training in performing arts. The following year, he began sponsoring the Sohrlin Andalucía School of Arts, a new performing arts school in Malaga. In the business world, Banderas owns a share of Anta Banderas, a winery in Villalba de Duero, Burgos, Spain, and has worked with fragrance and beauty multinational company Puig for over ten years, promoting a number of fragrances.
