Following an outstanding career at Youngstown State University, which included impressive performances in the Senior Bowl and the Ohio Shrine Bowl games, Jaworski became a second round draft choice of the Los Angeles Rams in 1973.
After spending four years with the Rams, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in March of 1977. Under Coach Dick Vermeil and behind Jaworski's very strong arm and enthusiastic field leadership, the Eagles advanced to the NFC Playoffs in 1978 and 1979. In 1980, "Jaws" led the Eagles to a 12-4 record, the NFC Championship and their first-ever berth in a Super Bowl (Super Bowl XV vs. the Oakland Raiders). He finished the 1980 season as the number one-rated passer in the NFC. In recognition of his brilliant 1980 season, Jaworski was selected to the Pro Bowl.
Today, Jaworski excels in the broadcasting field, working for ESPN, WTOG-TV Tampa Bay and ETN, Philadelphia. Despite a very demanding broadcasting schedule, he also owns and operates two golf courses, Garrisons Lake Golf Club in Delaware and Valley-Brook Golf Club in New Jersey, two hotels, the Holiday Inn/Stadium in Philadelphia and The Chateau Resort at Camelback in Stroudsberg, PA, and a Showcase Sports Store in Philadelphia.
Jaworski gives more than 50 motivational speeches each year, and he hosts an annual celebrity golf tournament, which has raised close to $1,000,000 for the United Way "Jaws Youth Fund." This major event is hosted by Bally's Casino and sponsored by Acme and Toyota. The prestigious Atlantic City Country Club hosts the two-day tournament, which features a $100,000 Celebrity Shoot-Out.
