T. Graham Brown Biography

  1. Graham Brown is an American country music singer and songwriter known for his soulful, blues-inflected voice that contributed to the sound of country music in the 1980s. Active since 1973, Brown has recorded 13 studio albums and has charted more than 20 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He began his career as a songwriter for EMI Publishing before signing with Capitol Records. Brown made his debut with the single "Drowning in Memories," his first for Capitol Records Nashville. His debut album, "I Tell It Like It Used to Be," was partly recorded at Alabama's Muscle Shoals studios and produced a series of hits that established his presence in country music.

Three of Brown's singles — "Hell and High Water" and "Don't Go to Strangers," as well as "Darlene" — reached number one, and eight more made the top ten. "Hell and High Water" was co-written by Brown and Alex Harvey, highlighting his skills as both a performer and songwriter. In addition to his recording career, Brown built a career singing advertising jingles, serving as the face and voice of Taco Bell's "Run For The Border" TV campaign for more than four years, with his vocals also featured in national ads for McDonald's, Burger King, Hardee's, Coca-Cola, Ford, Dodge, and others.

Brown wrote the award-winning song "Wine Into Water," which has been recorded over 100 times by artists worldwide, including Loretta Lynn on her album "Full Circle." The song addresses his struggle with alcohol addiction, a topic Brown has discussed publicly. He collaborated with George Jones on several projects, including the CMA Award-winning Vocal Event of the Year release, "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair." Brown's openness about his personal journey has resonated with audiences both on stage and off.

Brown produced the Grammy-nominated album "Forever Changed," featuring guest appearances by Leon Russell, the Oak Ridge Boys, Steve Cropper, Jeff and Sheri Easter, the Booth Brothers, Jimmy Fortune, Sonya Isaacs, and Jason Crabb. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Roots Gospel category. He also hosts "LIVE WIRE" on SiriusXM's Prime Country channel. Brown has maintained a touring schedule across the United States and Europe.

Brown was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry after making more than 300 appearances as a guest performer. As a recording artist, songwriter, performer, and producer, Brown has achieved multiple number-one songs in the country, blues, and gospel genres, demonstrating his versatility and influence within the music industry.
