The Art of the Business Lunch ~ Building Relationships Between 12 and 2

No matter what business you are in, you can improve your business by introducing a social aspect into your business relationships. People prefer to do business with people they like, and there is no better way to get to know someone than by breaking bread with them.

Taking a client to lunch is the most effective way to build ultimate business relationships. In fact, the bias that can be created is so strong that the government and certain companies forbid their employees to enjoy lunch with their vendors! Knowing how effective this sales technique can be, why are some professionals still reluctant to take their clients out? It’s likely because so many things can go wrong if you are not prepared.

Robin Jay is a Business Relationship Expert who has been on more than 3,000 client lunches.  She saw her sales increase by more than 2,000%! With nearly 20 years of successful sales experience, Robin learned how to take advantage of mealtimes, or any social outing, to build solid, long-lasting and profitable relationships. Her method has even been featured in “Newsweek Magazine.” In this presentation based on her award-winning book by the same name, “The Art of the Business Lunch,” she will reveal how you, too, can learn a better, more effective way to conduct business.

Robin discovered a “Special” secret for making her clients choose to work with her, instead of her competition, time and time again. She will show how you can take your business relationships to a more intimate level - where clients will bring you into their "inner circle."  You, too, will become a business relationship expert and enjoy increased sales and more success - personally and professionally!

The Art of Successful Networking

Personalizing your business can be the key to achieving unparalleled success. People prefer to do business with people they like. Meeting, getting to know people and building strong relationships can effectively assure success for anyone in any business. If two people like each other, the details won’t keep a deal from happening. If they don’t like each other, the details won’t make it happen. Businesses should never underestimate the value of the relationships that their people are able to build with their clients. One of the best ways to build solid relationships and broaden one’s circle of associates and friends is by networking. “The Art of Successful Networking” will help members of any organization or business to develop the skills necessary to create and build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships.

Whether you are looking to improve your own customer service, increase sales or meet escalating goals and quotas, the lessons in “The Art of Successful Networking” will motivate any individual or sales team and teach them the tools necessary to build productive business relationships. When sales teams and executives learn the right way to network and socialize with their clients and how to make them feel important, respected and valued, those clients will respond by choosing to work with that person and their company time and time again.

I am the author of the award-winning book, “The Art of the Business Lunch ~ Building Relationships Between 12 and 2,” as featured in such national publications as Newsweek and Forbes.com.  I have learned the secrets to making clients feel special. I personally experienced an increase in my sales of more than 2,000%! I attributed this to my ability to take my relationships to a higher level.

In my presentation “The Art of Successful Networking,” participants will discover:

What is the biggest mistake anyone can make at a networking luncheon?

The importance of personalizing their business

How to capitalize on a significant meeting

    The importance of strong follow-up

How to be prepared to assure smooth sailing

The best ways to take advantage of networking luncheons

A special trick to overcome nervousness when out with strangers

How a networking event could mean $10,000 in your pocket

    Important “Dos” and “Don’ts”

    Etiquette essentials

Creative ways to make clients feel special and gain their trust

This program will take the audience from the very first introduction and handshake with someone new to building solid, long-lasting business relationships. Audiences will learn the best ways to take full advantage of industry networking functions and produce tangible results - no matter what industry or business they’re in. When we become involved in each others lives and find a new way to share with one another, we succeed in elevating our business relationships to a higher, more intimate level. As an added bonus, when we work to make others in our lives feel better about themselves, we find not only more professional success, but more joy in our personal lives, as well. Brian Tracy said, “The quality of your relationship with your client is the determining factor in successful business; Robin shows you how to develop this at a high level.”  My presentation will reveal a new, superior way for professionals to achieve their goals.

The “Special” Secret of Sales Success

Increasing Sales and Creating Ultimate Relationships ~ The Keys to Outstanding Customer Service

Most people in business today feel overwhelmed and underappreciated. Less than 2% of the work force is ever made to feel “special.” When salespeople and executives learn how to differentiate themselves from all of the other people their clients deal with every day, they will create “Ultimate” business relationships. An “Ultimate” relationship will bring greater sales, more business, more referrals and an increase in overall success.

Customer service expectations have never been as low as they are now. The average customer today actually expects lousy service! This makes it easy for those of us who want to shine and stand out from the crowd. With just a little effort, we can pull away from the pack of uncaring or tiresome vendors and salespeople.

When we take our customers by the hand and ask them questions about what they really want and need, we work to make a true connection with them. Then, when we knowingly fulfill their needs, customer satisfaction is mightily impacted and sales soar.  There are many facets to outstanding customer service – including customer retention, win/win negotiations, value selling, effective listening, cold calling and thorough follow up.

 Participants will learn:

Negotiating is a science. There is a right way and a wrong way to conduct a negotiation, and when done correctly, it will always result in a win/win.

No sale is ever made based on price alone. If two people WANT to do business with each other, the details won't stop it from happening. If two people DON'T want to do business together, the details won't make it happen. It’s never just about the price!

A solid relationship will win out over competition every time.

The truth about cold calling: NO call is ever wasted! We always get back what we put out – though not necessarily from the same source.

It’s a lot more cost-effective to keep a client than it is to get a new one. Client retention is as important as new business. When client retention is high, and new clients are added to the mix, the result is stunning growth and increased sales.

When you learn the right way to make people feel important and the simple ways to make your interactions with others more memorable, work will flow more smoothly and the people you deal with will enjoy working with you more. Understanding that we are all connected to each other works to create a greater sense of peace and harmony in the workplace and helps to drive business forward at an unprecedented pace. There are a lot of factors working simultaneously in our lives and they are easier to recognize and work with when we grasp these principles and learn how to use them to our benefit! This program is guaranteed to motivate and inspire!

The SELF Personality Profile

Do you work with some people who just don’t seem to understand you?  Or perhaps you don’t understand them or what makes them tick. Do you sometimes feel that you aren’t even speaking the same language? If so, you’ll be delighted to find out that you may be having trouble communicating with others because you really aren’t speaking their language!

Even though we may all be speaking English, we relate to each other differently. The SELF Personality Profile will help audiences to gain greater understanding of how others process information and relate to those around them.  Gaining this understanding will improve your ability to communicate with others and in doing so will also improve your productivity.

We each relate to the world around us based on our tendency to lead or take direction. Couple that with our preference to work with others or by ourselves and you come up with four distinct personality profiles. When we learn to identify the different characteristics of each dimension, our ability to communicate is immediately improved and we no longer encounter the stumbling blocks that used to hold us back.

This is a fun, interactive presentation that will, in just an hour, teach audience members a better way to communicate and relate to those around them, eliminating frustration and challenges to progress.

The Art of Business Protocol & Etiquette

“The Art of Business Protocol & Etiquette” is the answer to an HR Director’s dream!  In today’s workplace, running a tight ship sometimes has to take a back seat to political correctness. This program will teach Supervisors, Directors and Team Leaders how to communicate their needs effectively and within the parameters of correct behavior. This program can also be taught directly to employees as a means of inspiring them to perform to the best of their ability and within the guidelines of modern business protocol. If you’ve ever had someone text message a friend or associate while in the middle of a conversation or had someone read their e-mail while you are trying to talk to them, this presentation is just what you need!  How does one define the difference between multi-tasking and being rude? Good business etiquette encompasses everything from table manners to effective communication.

There are many categories that fall under the headings of protocol and etiquette. Participants will learn about the importance of and how to achieve:

    * A Professional Appearance

    * Effective Communication Skills, including segments on:

~ Neuro-linguistic programming basics

~ The written word; effective e-mails

~ Telephone, voice tone & interpersonal skills

~ Developing an effective vocabulary

    * Good Manners

~ In person, on the phone, in correspondence

~ Table manners and proper business dining etiquette

    * Diplomacy

~ People skills

~ Handling criticism: giving & receiving

~ Gender specific skills

This program motivates audiences by teaching knowledge and skills that have sometimes been lost or forgotten in our hectic society. Audience members will gain information that will help them to become more effective at work. They will also learn how to differentiate themselves from others by displaying good manners and appropriate business protocol. Knowing proper business protocol and etiquette is the key to achieving greater success in the corporate world.

The History of Las Vegas

Everyone knows the Las Vegas of today…Mega-Resorts, World-Class Shopping, Restaurants that bear the names of celebrity chefs, Spectacular Stage Shows and Hi-Rise Condominiums that rival New York City!  But how did this jewel in the desert grow up so fast? More than 5,000 people move to Las Vegas, Nevada every month…drawn to the glitter, the growth and the opportunity that is unique to this valley locale.

Now you can experience the drama that built what began as a mere whistle-stop along the railroad into one of the most rapidly growing metropolitan cities ever. The Las Vegas valley was quietly inhabited by Native Americans for more than 10,000 years, until 1829 – when a young Mexican scout discovered this oasis and named it Las Vegas, meaning “The Meadows.”

Mormon missionaries tried to settle here and Pony Express riders cut through the valley. But it wasn’t until the gold strike of 1859 and the discovery of the Comstock Lode, the greatest, single mineral strike in history, that Nevada became a destination. The trains came through in 1904. Then, in 1928, when the $165 Million dollar Boulder Canyon Project launched, thousands of depression-weary job seekers came to the valley to work.

Gambling was legalized in 1931 and within ten years, small hotels and casinos begin to crop up, including the Flamingo, owned by the infamous gangster Bugsy Siegel. Audiences from everywhere will enjoy this brief history, but the Power Point that accompanies this entertaining presentation is chock-full of spectacular photos that will transcend language and speak of the realities that made Las Vegas what it is today.

Discover:

Bugsy Siegel’s influence on Las Vegas, right up until his death

    The development of downtown

The effect the energy crisis of the 1980’s had on the casino’s lighting

The bizarre world of Howard Hughes

Las Vegas’ unique tendency for imploding old resorts

The impact Steve Wynn has had on Las Vegas

Las Vegas as it evolves from simply an entertainment destination into a World-Class dining, shopping, and residential metropolis

Why more than 40,000 students call Las Vegas home, making Las Vegas the 11th largest school district in the United States

What’s in store for the future of Las Vegas, and what is the meaning of “Vertical Vegas”?

Robin Jay is a 32-year resident of Las Vegas and has experienced much of this growth first-hand. She shares anecdotes from her personal experience, working in the hotel industry when it was still controlled by organized crime and when Howard Hughes owned much of the city. Go beyond the glitter of Las Vegas Boulevard and enjoy this journey to the heart of what makes Las Vegas the most unique and exciting destination in the world.

Essential Wellness

Wellness is NOT an option! We have an obligation to ourselves to take care of our bodies and our minds. In this presentation, audiences will learn the importance of achieving and maintaining good health, as well as effective ways to get there. Busting stress is at the top of the list. In this program, I offer permission along with the ammunition necessary for individuals to accept that taking care of themselves is critical, and that they needn’t feel guilty for simple pleasures.

As a former stress victim, I found out the hard way that Finding our purpose and passion is key to healthy living. The effects of stress account for nearly 90% of all illness and cost employers thousands of dollars per employee every year. Concern about our economy, terrorism, family and our jobs take their toll on most of us. Women and men handle stress differently, too. We owe it to ourselves to find the way to deal with stress that works for us as individuals. This program offers options and healthy ways to reward ourselves that will make an ultimate difference in our health and happiness in the long run.

The importance of indulging ourselves in activities to relieve the strains of everyday life is emphasized, along with a variety of great ways to reduce and even eliminate stress in our lives. This enjoyable and informative presentation will have audiences scrambling to make salads and schedule their next massage!
