Lindsay Tarpley Biography

Lindsay Tarpley is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and one of the most accomplished players in U.S. Women’s Soccer history. With 125 international appearances and 32 goals for the U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT), she left an indelible mark on the sport. From scoring the golden goal in the first-ever FIFA U-19 Women’s World Cup to playing key roles in the U.S. to Olympic victories in 2004 and 2008, Tarpley has excelled at every level. Most notably, she played a pivotal role in the USWNT’s gold medal triumph at the 2004 Athens Olympics, scoring the opening goal in the Gold Medal match to help secure a 2-1 victory over Brazil.

A standout at the University of North Carolina, Tarpley helped secure a national championship and was named National Player of the Year as well as ESPN Rise High School Player of the Decade (2000s). Her career was cut short by a devastating injury in 2011, but she continues to inspire as an international speaker, entrepreneur, and mentor.

Tarpley founded the World Champion Soccer Academy in CITY, which takes a holistic approach to guiding young athletes in their growth both on and off the field. She is the co-founder of N-LITE Talent, an organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing young talent through personalized athlete development and performance tracking.
