  • What Are The Benefits Of Exercise?

Why Is Exercise So Impactful To Your Health?

How many times does someone need to tell you how good exercise is for you? There is not one thing you can say about exercise that is negative other than you not doing it. Exercise is like how we need water to live. And without exercise in life we will not live very long.

One of the benefits of exercise is good sleep and you sleep better if you exercise regularly. But make sure you do not exercise right before you go to bed, or you will have a tough time going to sleep.

Exercise helps to boost your endurance, strength, and energy levels. The more energy you have the better you will be at work, the better you will be for your family and kids. It improves your lung and heart health and your entire cardiovascular system. We all want to have a boost of energy and exercise will help you with that.

The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes of aerobic activity to maintain a healthy heart. That comes out to walking 30 minutes a day and 5 days a week. Another benefit of exercise is that it will help you lose and manage your weight. Weight-loss occurs when you can create a caloric deficit and that caloric deficit can only be created through eating or exercise. When you engage in any physical activity you can burn calories which is needed to create that caloric deficit.

Another benefit of exercise is it lowers the risk of severe chronic health diseases such as:

    • High Blood Pressure
    • Stroke
    • Cancer
    • Heart Disease
    • Arthritis
    • Depression
    • Type 2 Diabetes

  • Does Detox Diets and Cleanses Actually Work?

Detox cleanses may not necessarily remove toxins from your body, but it can help with removing unhealthy foods from your diet. The biggest problem with detox diets and cleanses is the calories are extremely low. And you don’t get enough nutrients from a cleanse or detox diet. So being on a detox diet or cleanse can put you in an extreme nutrient deficiency.

A detox diet is like fasting because all you are consuming is fruits, vegetables, fruit juice and water. Some of the claims it says it can do is improve circulation, eliminate toxins, and stimulate your liver. Most of the human research on detox diets and its claims is lacking big time. The research studies just don’t validate all the claims it makes.

What does a detox diet consist of:

    • Fasting for 1 to 3 days
    • Drinking fresh fruit and vegetables juices, smoothies, water, and tea.
    • During a detox you are eliminating alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, and refined sugar.

Why you don’t need a detox diet to remove toxins from your body?

Your body is designed to detox and cleanse itself as it is its own detox machine. Your body can cleanse itself through its urine, feces, liver and sweat. Your liver helps to release harmful toxins from your body.

  • How Do I Lose Weight Fast?

The fastest way to lose weight is to make sure that you are eating enough quality nutrient dense foods that puts you in caloric deficit. To lose 1 pound a week you need to be in a caloric deficit of 500 calories per day. And to lose 2 pounds a week you need to be in a caloric deficit of 1000 calories per day. A steady healthy weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds per week which is recommended by the CDC by long term weight loss management.

To lose weight one of the best ways is to balance your plate with a vegetable, healthy fat source, healthy protein source and a complex carbohydrate source. Vegetables and fruits are some of the best foods to eat because they are high in nutrients and low in calories. It feels you up and it’s a great appetite suppressant as it will make you eat less food.

Vegetables have fiber and that is great for your digestive system. And those vegetables are:

    • Broccoli
    • Spinach
    • Kale
    • Cauliflower
    • Asparagus
    • Cabbage
    • Lettuce
    • Brussels Sprouts
    • Tomatoes

  • How Can I Suppress Appetite Naturally?

    Eating High Fiber-Rich Food

Eating high fiber-rich food such as fruits and vegetables are some of the best ways to reduce your appetite. A high fiber intake can slow your digestion system and promote more fullness, increasing your satiety and making you eat less food. When you eat fiber, it helps to produce short chain fatty acids in your gut which makes you eat less food.

Those fiber rich foods are fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, seeds, beans, peas, chickpeas, etc. Drinking water will help suppress your appetite. If you drink up to 8 glasses of water per day, it will suppress your appetite and make you fuller. There was a research study that found that people who drank two glasses of water immediately before a meal ate 22% less than those who did not.

Some research studies have also found that thirst status and water intake can influence the types of foods you want to eat. And more so than influencing hunger and how much you eat. Drinking water should never replace eating whole foods but drinking water in between meals will help you eat less calories and food.

    Eat Slowly

Research studies have shown that eating food slowly can prevent you from overeating. Recent research studies have shown that eating slower can affect your endocrine system as well as affect your digestive system while signaling your hunger and satiety cues.

    Getting Proper Sleep

Studies have shown that getting enough sleep will reduce hunger, increase satiety, and decrease food cravings. Sleep deprivation can cause an elevation in a hormone called ghrelin and leptin. And that is a hunger hormone that increases your food intake. Leptin is known as an appetite regulation hormone. The CDC recommends that adults get at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep per day and 8 to 12 hours for children and teens.
