Wang Shuo is editor of Caixin Media, editor-in-chief for Caixin Online (english.caing.com), editor of Century Weekly magazine and editor of monthly journal China Reform.
Wang Shuo co-founded CAIJING magazine with Ms. Hu Shuli in 1998. He was behind many of the milestone articles that carried CAIJING to fame, including “Fund Management: Behind the Black Curtain” and “The Trap of Yin Guang Xia”. Under his leadership, CAIJING won the 2003 International Consortium of Investigative Journalists Award for Outstanding International Investigative Reporting, and an Honorable Mention in Kurt Schork Memorial Awards in International Journalism in 2004.
Before CAIJING, Wang Shuo was an international editor at government-owned People’s Daily Newspaper. He holds a degree and a master's in philosophy, an executive MBA from the joint program of Fordham University and China Center for Economic Research at Peking University; and a master’s in international public policy from Johns Hopkins University.
If it weren’t for his devotion to journalism, Wang Shuo might have pursued his hobby, the board game Go. He is a Go master and at age 15 was named a National Universities champion.
