Taron Egerton

Taron Egerton is a Welsh actor and singer known for his work in film, television, and theater. Egerton attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating before beginning his professional acting career. During his time at RADA, he won the Stephen Sondheim Society's Student Performer of the Year Award. Egerton performed in a stage production of the play "The Last of the Haussmans" at National Theatre in London before transitioning to screen roles. He appeared in the crime drama series "Lewis" and was cast as the lead in Matthew Vaughn's action comedy film "Kingsman: The Secret Service," an adaptation of the comic book "The Secret Service."

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" received positive reviews and grossed over $400 million. Egerton's portrayal of Gary Eggsy Unwin brought him widespread recognition and led to a three-movie contract with 20th Century Fox. He reprised the role in "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" and expanded his filmography with projects such as the drama "Testament of Youth," in which he played Edward Brittain, and the sports film "Eddie the Eagle," where he portrayed ski jumper Eddie Edwards. Egerton has also contributed voice work to animated projects, including the "Sing" franchise and "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance."

Egerton's career-defining role came with the biographical musical film "Rocketman," in which he portrayed Elton John. For this role, he learned to play piano and performed all vocals for the film's soundtrack. Egerton won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his performance and received nominations for the British Academy Film Award and the Grammy Award for his work on the soundtrack.

Egerton executive produced and starred as Jimmy Keene in the miniseries "Black Bird" on Apple TV+, earning a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. He also portrayed entrepreneur Henk Rogers in the biographical film "Tetris," also on Apple TV+. Egerton continued his momentum with the Netflix thriller "Carry-On," in which he played a TSA agent, and starred in the Apple TV+ miniseries "Smoke" and the crime thriller film "She Rides Shotgun."

As an ambassador for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Egerton has participated in campaigns to raise awareness and funds for research.
