Lauren Paxton

Lauren Paxton is a private coach for lawyers. She practiced for twenty years, as a federal prosecutor and a law firm partner, before she trained as a coach.

She works with lawyers and law firm leaders on business development, leadership, personal branding, and the direction of their careers. Her approach integrates mindset and neuroscience-based tools, and the work goes beneath the surface to what is actually standing in a client's way. The subject is the door. The work underneath is the same.

Paxton spent two decades inside the profession. She served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, led an employment practice as a law firm partner, chaired the Employment Section of the New York County Lawyers' Association, and was appointed investigative counsel to the New York Governor's Office. She built a substantial book of business herself. She knows the chair her clients are sitting in, because she sat in it.

She received individual rankings from Chambers & Partners and has been quoted in Forbes, Newsweek, and CFO Magazine. She trained through the Co-Active Training Institute, holds an ICF credential, and continues her study with the Institute of Coaching, a Harvard Medical School affiliate.

Paxton speaks and leads workshops for law firms, bar associations, professional development teams, and corporate audiences, in formats ranging from ninety minutes to a full day.
