Katherine Moennig Biography
Katherine Moennig, widely recognized for her portrayal of Shane McCutcheon in "The L Word" (2004–2009) and its sequel "The L Word: Generation Q" (2019-2023), has made significant contributions to television and theater. Her work in "Ray Donovan" (2013-2019) and its subsequent movie in 2022, as well as her recurring role as Professor Paige Hewson in "Grown-ish" (Seasons 2 and 3), further demonstrates her versatility as an actress. In 2006, Moennig expanded her repertoire, making her Off-Broadway debut in the play "Guardians" by Peter Morris.
Outside of her acting career, Moennig has ventured into other areas of media and art. Since her time on "The L Word," she has co-hosted the podcast "PANTS" with Leisha Hailey, and the two co-authored the joint memoir "So Gay for You" in 2025.
Her influence extends beyond acting and into the realm of fashion and advocacy. Moennig played a pivotal role in launching the tomboy clothing brand Wildfang in 2013, serving as an ambassador and even designing a limited-edition pair of boots. She has used her platform to advocate for issues close to her heart, including gay teen homelessness.
