Dean Cain

Dean Cain is an actor, television personality, and outspoken conservative political and social commentator. He is best known for his 1990's role of Superman in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." The series ran for four years and drew up to 15 million viewers per episode at the height of its popularity. He is currently on the board of directors for the National Rifle Association.

Cain was born as Dean George Tanaka but his mother, actress Sharon Thomas, later married film director Christopher Cain, who legally adopted Dean and his brother Roger. The family moved to Malibu, California, where Cain attended Santa Monica High School. He played baseball for the school alongside classmates Charlie Sheen and Chad and Rob Lowe. Cain graduated in 1984 with 17 scholarship offers but chose to attend Princeton University.

He graduated from Princeton in 1988 with a degree in history. Signed as a free agent by the Buffalo Bills, Cain's football career ended before it began due to a knee injury during training camp. He turned to screenwriting and acting, appearing in commercials and television shows such as "Beverly Hills, 90210."

Since "Lois and Clark," Cain has acted in numerous films including "Rat Race," "Out of Time," "God's Not Dead," and "Post Impact." He launched his own production company, which produced "Ripley's Believe It or Not!"—a show he also hosted.

More recently, Cain has appeared in TV series such as "Burn Notice," "Criminal Minds" and "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23." He was also a contestant on NBC’s reality show "Stars Earn Stripes," in which celebrities compete in military-style challenges inspired by real training exercises.
