Angela Glover Blackwell

Angela Glover Blackwell is a lifelong advocate for racial and economic equity and the host of the podcasts "Radical Imagination" and "Reimagining Democracy for a Good Life."

She is Founder in Residence at PolicyLink, the organization she launched in 1999 to advance equity for low-income communities and communities of color. Under her leadership, PolicyLink became a national leader in using public policy to expand access to health, housing, transportation, and infrastructure. Her "Radical Imagination" podcast, which debuted in 2019, introduces listeners to visionary thinkers challenging the status quo, while "Reimagining Democracy for a Good Life" explores building an inclusive, thriving multiracial democracy focused on human flourishing.

A lawyer by training, Angela previously served as Senior Vice President at The Rockefeller Foundation and founded the Urban Strategies Council. From 1977 to 1987, she was a partner at Public Advocates. She is co-author of "Uncommon Common Ground: Race and America’s Future" and author of "The Curb Cut Effect" (Stanford Social Innovation Review, 2017).

Angela has served on numerous boards and advisory councils, including the Federal Reserve’s inaugural Community Advisory Council and California’s 2020 Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery. She has been recognized with the 2018 John W. Gardner Leadership Award and the 2017 Peter E. Haas Public Service Award from UC Berkeley.
