Andrew Rannells

Andrew Rannells is a Tony-nominated, Grammy Award-winning actor known for his versatility across Broadway, television, film, and publishing.

Rannells first gained recognition among Broadway audiences when he originated the role of Elder Kevin Price in the musical "The Book of Mormon," written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez. His performance earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for the original cast recording, highlighting the show's cultural impact and his contribution to musical theater.

Rannells made his Broadway debut in "Hairspray," later portraying Bob Gaudio in "Jersey Boys." He has performed in a range of productions, including the title role in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," and temporarily replaced Jonathan Groff as King George III in "Hamilton." Rannells received a second Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Whizzer Brown in the Broadway revival of "Falsettos." He also played Larry in the Tony Award-winning revival of "The Boys in the Band" and appeared alongside Josh Gad in "Gutenberg! The Musical!" Rannells made his London stage debut as Jim Bakker in the musical "Tammy Faye" at Almeida Theatre, earning a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical.

On screen, Rannells starred as Bryan Collins in the NBC sitcom "The New Normal" and is recognized for his role as Elijah in HBO's series "Girls." He starred in and produced the Showtime series "Black Monday" and appeared in films such as "The Intern," "A Simple Favor," and "The Prom." His voice acting includes roles in Netflix's animated series "Big Mouth" and Amazon Prime's "Invincible." Rannells has also appeared in Netflix's "Nobody Wants This" and Hulu's comedy series "Deli Boys."

As an author, Rannells published the memoir "Too Much Is Not Enough: A Memoir of Fumbling Toward Adulthood" and "Uncle of the Year: & Other Debatable Triumphs" through Random House/Crown.
