Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler is an actress and comedian who began her career as a founding member of the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. This troupe offered improv classes and performed shows at small venues in New York City, which gave Poehler the opportunity to refine her comedic skills. Her work with the Brigade led to appearances on popular shows such as "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and eventually to her joining the cast of the NBC sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live" in 2001. Her time on SNL was marked by memorable recurring characters and co-anchoring the news parody segment, "Weekend Update," with Tina Fey from 2004 to 2008.

Post-SNL, Poehler starred as the unforgettable Leslie Knope in the sitcom "Parks and Recreation," a role that resulted in a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy Series in 2014 and a Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series in 2012.
