Ms. Catherine Balsam-Schwaber has been the Chief Content Officer at Mattel, Inc. since September 21, 2015. Ms. Balsam-Schwaber joined Mattel from NBCUniversal, where she led the corporate content and innovation agency. She served as Senior Vice President of Marketing at iVillage Inc. since December 2009. She served as Vice President of integrated marketing at MTV Networks. As a recognized leader in the entertainment business, Ms. Balsam-Schwaber also directed transformative content strategies at AOL, Time Warner, MTV and iVillage. She began her career in the White House Communications Office and later joined NBC News as a producer for the flagship NBC Nightly News program.
Balsam-Schwaber earned her bachelor’s degree at Brandeis University and went on to receive her Masters of Business from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business. She currently lives in Manhattan with her husband Edward Lang and their two children.
