Reality Allah Biography
Reality Allah is an outreach worker at READI Chicago or the Rapid Employment and Development Initiative. It is a two-year program that works with the Chicago men most likely to be shot or to shoot someone, and provides them with temporary employment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and social services.
After being incarcerated for more than two decades, Allah vowed to dedicate his life to reducing violence. At READI, he uses his more than 30 years of experience and knowledge to engage men at high risk of violence with transitional jobs and cognitive behavioral therapy and to connect them with other critical support services. The Mutual of America Foundation recognized him for his outreach work in 2018. He was featured in "Firsthand: Gun Violence," a WTTW initiative launched in November 2019.
