Suzanne Ehlers is a seasoned non-profit executive with 25+ years of experience serving global populations, including refugees, displaced people, and the stateless. She is currently the Executive Director and CEO of USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, leading a team of 80+ in Washington, DC and New York City to amplify refugee voices and engage millions of Americans in support of UNHCR.
Ehlers previously served as CEO of Malala Fund, working closely with Malala and Ziauddin Yousafzai to champion girls’ education. Before that, she was President and CEO of PAI, transforming it into a leading voice for the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls. Known for scaling mission-driven organizations, she is a systems thinker and passionate connector who fosters collaboration across sectors to tackle complex global issues.
She serves on the board of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and has held multiple advisory roles. A former Peace Corps volunteer in the Central African Republic, Ehlers holds a degree in government from Cornell University.
