Stella Damasus

Stella Damasus is a Nigerian actress, singer, producer, and media entrepreneur recognized for her significant contributions to Nollywood and the African entertainment industry. A graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos, Damasus began her professional career as a studio session singer at Klink Studios in Lagos, providing jingles and voiceovers for radio and television commercials. Her early work in the music and media industry established her as a versatile voice talent prior to her transition to film.

Damasus made her acting debut in the film "Abused" and gained national recognition with her role in "Breaking Point," produced by Emem Isong and directed by Francis Agu. She has appeared in more than 70 films, including "Behind Closed Doors," "The Widow," "Two Brides and a Baby," and "Between." Her performances have earned her multiple nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards for her work in "Behind Closed Doors," "Widow," and "State of the Heart." Damasus received the Award for Best Actress at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards and won Best Actress for "Two Brides and a Baby" at the Golden Icons Academy Awards in Houston, Texas.

In addition to her acting career, Damasus has pursued music, releasing the album "The Alternative." Her musical work is rooted in gospel and faith-based themes, reflecting her personal convictions and advocacy. She co-founded Index Two Studios, a production company serving the motion picture industry, and established ADIVA Networks in Lagos, later expanding it to the United States. Under Adiva Networks, Damasus launched Adiva Magazine. She also co-founded i2Radio and hosts two podcasts: "Undiluted with Stella Damasus" and "When Women Praise," engaging audiences on topics related to entertainment, women's empowerment, and faith.

Damasus uses her platform to advocate for social justice, women's rights, and youth empowerment across Africa and the diaspora. She founded the Stella Damasus Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through training in drama, music, dance, film production, and writing. She also established Adiva, a mentorship program supporting women and young girls. Damasus has served as an ambassador for Women4Africa and the NDLEA, and has partnered with the World Food Programme on humanitarian initiatives in Liberia. Through public speaking, virtual masterclasses, and online interviews, she continues to mentor aspiring actors and media entrepreneurs, contributing to the growth of the African creative industry.
