Saumya Dave Biography
Saumya Dave is a board-certified psychiatrist, author, and mental health advocate. She is the author of three novels: "The Guilt Pill," "Well-Behaved Indian Women," and "What a Happy Family." "Well-Behaved Indian Women" was selected as "this summer's fix" by The New York Times Book Review. "What a Happy Family" was the July 2021 pick for Good Housekeeping Magazine.
Dave is a frequent contributor to NBC News, where she discusses a variety of mental health topics. Dave teaches a Narrative Medicine course for psychiatry interns at Mount Sinai, where she was a chief resident and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. She has her own private practice in Brooklyn, where she lives with her husband and two children.
