Renae Bluitt

Renae L. Bluitt is a New York City-based filmmaker, producer, brand consultant, and advocate for Black women entrepreneurs. Bluitt has built her career around advancing accurate representation of Black women in media, digital content, and branding. Her professional journey began in the corporate and agency sectors, with employers including Burrell Communications, Lifetime Television, and Edelman Multicultural Marketing. Combining her public relations background with a passion for pop culture and multicultural communities, Bluitt launched Crush Media.

Bluitt's commitment to amplifying Black women's stories led to the creation of the "In Her Shoes" blog, a platform that became central to her mission. The blog was named Best Business Blog of the Year in the Black Weblog Awards and was featured in a Pantene advertorial in ESSENCE Magazine. Over time, "In Her Shoes" evolved into a recognized brand within the Black entrepreneurship space. Bluitt's accolades include the Entrepreneurship Award from the NAACP Brooklyn chapter and recognition in AT&T's "Creators of Cool" Black History Month campaign as a modern-day history maker.

After nearly a decade of storytelling through her blog, Bluitt expanded her work to film as creator and executive producer of the documentary "She Did That." The film, which premiered at the ESSENCE Music Festival and streamed on Netflix in multiple regions, explores the journeys of Black women entrepreneurs and addresses topics such as the funding gap for women of color. "She Did That" was the first film to be screened in a JPMorgan Chase branch location and highlights how Black women entrepreneurs transform challenges into opportunities.

The success of "She Did That" led Bluitt to launch the "She Did That" podcast, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. She also produces the "She Did That" Holiday Bazaar, featuring 50 Black women-owned brands. Bluitt served as supervising producer for seasons two and three of REVOLT TV and Target's pitch competition show, "Bet on Black," where she selects and prepares entrepreneurs to compete for cash prizes and opportunities to place their products on Target shelves.

Bluitt is a keynote speaker and thought leader on topics including television and film, diversity and inclusion, women in business, personal growth, empowerment, entrepreneurship, marketing, and social activism. Her work has been featured on CNN Headline News, in Forbes, Black Enterprise, The Tamron Hall Show, INSIDER, ESSENCE, and New York Living. Bluitt has also partnered with brands such as JPMorgan Chase, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, VH-1, Walmart, Luna Bar, and State Farm. Through her work in media, film, and entrepreneurship, Bluitt is committed to ensuring that the stories of Black women entrepreneurs are told with depth, nuance, and visibility.
