Rebecca Isbell

Dr. Rebecca Isbell was an early childhood education consultant, professor emerita, and author whose career focused on improving the quality of learning environments for young children. Isbell served as director of the Center of Excellence in Early Childhood Learning and Development and as a professor of early childhood education at East Tennessee State University. She played a key role in establishing the university's PhD program in early childhood education and directed the university's lab school for young children, contributing to the preparation of educators at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.

Isbell authored 14 professional books and numerous articles for early childhood educators, becoming a recognized voice in the field. Her works include the textbook "Creativity and the Arts with Young Children," "The Complete Learning Center Book," "Real Classroom Makeovers," "The Complete Learning Spaces Book for Infants and Toddlers," and the children's book "Everyone Has a Story to Tell." Her book "Nurturing Creativity: An Essential Mindset for Young Children's Learning," published by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, became a bestseller.
