Patty McCord

Patty McCord is a workplace innovator and culture strategist best known for her 14 years as chief talent officer at Netflix, where she helped shape the company’s groundbreaking culture and co-created the Netflix Culture Deck. Hailed by Sheryl Sandberg as “the most important document ever to come out of Silicon Valley,” the deck has been viewed more than 15 million times and continues to influence how organizations worldwide think about talent and leadership.

McCord advises executives, entrepreneurs, and organizations on leadership and culture while speaking to audiences around the globe. Her insights have been featured in the Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, NPR, and The Wall Street Journal.

Drawing on her experiences at global tech companies, start-ups, and IPOs—including Sun Microsystems, Borland, Seagate Technologies, Pure Atria Software, and Netflix—McCord has seen firsthand how bureaucracy can slow innovation and how rethinking “best practices” can unlock growth.
