Mike Sullivan

Mike Sullivan is a youth educational speaker, author, and mental health advocate dedicated to helping students build resilience and confidence. Raised in Chicago, Illinois, he was influenced early on by his mother, a music teacher, and his father’s appreciation for character development speakers—two passions that would later shape his own distinctive approach to outreach and education.

Sullivan’s path was not without challenges. Having experienced significant bullying throughout elementary and middle school, he developed severe anxiety and depression. Through his personal journey, he identified what he calls the “three keys” to overcoming these struggles—insights that now form the foundation of his work with young people.

Today, Sullivan shares his “Born to Shine” school assemblies with K–12 students nationwide, aiming to provide a clear, actionable path for overcoming anxiety and depression. His mission is to empower students to build inner confidence, improve their well-being, and thrive both academically and personally.

Blending his background in psychology with humor, storytelling, and interactive music, Sullivan’s engaging presentations offer practical tools for a healthier, more positive mindset. His “Born to Shine” method is designed to equip students with the skills they need to navigate challenges and lead more fulfilling lives.
