Mickey English

Mickey English is a seasoned 20-year Rock/Talk radio personality known for his quick wit, dynamic voice work, and larger-than-life presence on the airwaves. Before launching his broadcasting career, English played semi-pro football as a cornerback and wide receiver for the Cleveland Lions.

Beyond radio, English’s talents took him to the screen, appearing in films such as "Telling Lies in America" and "Any Given Sunday," as well as the ABC TV series "Maximum Bob" starring Beau Bridges during his time living in Miami.

English spent a decade as Co-Host, Executive Producer, Comedy Writer, and Character Voice Artist for "The Liz Wilde Show." He later joined "Dee Snider Radio" at WMRQ in Hartford, CT (yes, the frontman of Twisted Sister!) before moving on to the nationally syndicated "Mancow’s Morning Madhouse" out of Chicago. There, English became known for his spot-on impressions of Gene Simmons, Al Pacino, and Christopher Walken—masterminding hilarious prank calls and interviews with rock stars, musicians, and celebrities. His arsenal of celebrity impressions and original characters could appear at any moment, keeping audiences laughing and engaged.

English went on to host "Mickey’s Morning Mayhem"—a high-energy morning show packed with sharp sarcasm, pop culture commentary, lifestyle talk, sports, news, games, and celebrity interviews. By the second ratings book, his show had soared to the #1 spot.

English eventually stepped away from the success and spotlight of radio to redirect his focus and energy toward helping men struggling with addiction, trauma, and mental health problems after moving to Florida in 2016. English has taken his passion for this subject matter and public speaking talents to high schools, rehabs, institutions, committees, and was the keynote speaker for the State of Maryland’s Child Welfare Family & Trauma Institute, where he delivered an impactful speaking experience followed by a Q&A with mental health and child welfare professionals.

Today, English lives in York, South Carolina, with his wife Shana, sons Jacob and Jaylan, and their lively menagerie of pets. He is currently a Sr Technical Recruiter in the IT & Engineering space. He continues sharing his energy and experience through "Shot of Hope LIVE" podcast on YouTube, an addiction recovery-focused show where he brings hope, humor, and real-life wisdom to those battling addiction, trauma & mental health issues.
