Michael Voltaggio

Michael Voltaggio is a chef, restaurateur, and author known for his expertise in modern cuisine, culinary innovation, and restaurant leadership. Voltaggio began working in kitchens at age 15 and completed his formal training at the Greenbrier Culinary Apprenticeship Program by 21. He gained experience at The Ritz-Carlton and in acclaimed kitchens such as Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg and The Dining Room at the Langham Huntington in Pasadena. His training has focused on European fine dining, with an emphasis on modern technique, flavor, and presentation.

Voltaggio won Season 6 of "Top Chef," competing in the finale alongside his brother Bryan Voltaggio. He has led several prominent restaurants, earning a Michelin Star at Charlie Palmer's Dry Creek Kitchen, a 4-star review at The Bazaar by José Andrés, and recognition as a James Beard Best New Restaurant finalist. As chef de cuisine at The Dining Room, Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena, the restaurant received several culinary awards, including the AAA Five Diamond Award, the Mobil Five-Star Award, and a Michelin Star.

Following his "Top Chef" win, Voltaggio opened "ink." in West Hollywood, which was named "America's Best New Restaurant" by GQ Magazine. He also partnered with his brother to open "STRFSH," a fast-casual fish sandwich concept, and Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse at MGM National Harbor in Maryland. Voltaggio co-authored the cookbook "VOLT ink.: Recipes, Stories, Brothers" with Bryan Voltaggio, exploring their culinary approach through 20 food families of ingredients.

Voltaggio has appeared regularly on Food Network as host, mentor, and competitor on shows including "Tournament of Champions," "Beat Bobby Flay," "Guy's Ranch Kitchen," "Supermarket Stakeout," "Guy's Grocery Games," "Bobby's Triple Threat," "Battle of the Brothers," and "BBQ Brawl." He has served as a judge on "Iron Chef America" and "The Julia Child Challenge," and has made guest appearances in scripted series such as "Lucifer," "Suburgatory," and "Young & Hungry."
