The book combines real stories, science-backed insights, and actionable strategies to show how passion can be part of everyday life, while not letting go of responsibilities for those we love and lead. Growing up in Dorset, UK, Best followed what seemed like the "right" path by studying history at the University of Warwick. During her time there, a summer adventure involving a hairdryer and a Greyhound bus (long story!) led her to Minneapolis, where she fell in love with the city's creative energy and possibilities. After Warwick, she built a PR career in the UK, working on award-winning campaigns like Land Rover's "In Search of a Legend" and NSPCC's "Full Stop" (which sought to eliminate child abuse). At 26, she left the UK to join the Minneapolis advertising scene, armed with just a suitcase, $500, and her snowboard, emboldened by her father's parting words to "fly". In the following years, she became known as one of the Twin Cities' top digital marketing leaders. In 2014, Best launched Passion Collective, initially as a women's community, to create space for real conversations about passion, identity, and fulfillment at a time when many didn’t feel they had the permission to support each other or voice their needs. Since then, she has awarded microgrants to Passion Seekers across Europe, U.S. and Africa, launched the Passion Chats podcast, and spoken to thousands of leaders of all genders across the US sharing practical ways to do more of what they love in work and life.
